Instead, the new mother was met by the doctor bringing information about Tetralogy of Fallot, a congenital heart defect that features four distinct heart problems: a hole between the lower chambers of the heart, an obstruction from the heart to the lungs, the aorta (a large blood vessel) lies over the hole in the lower chambers, and the muscle surrounding the lower right chamber becomes overly thickened. With this condition, there is not enough blood reaching the lungs and oxygen-poor blood flows to the body.
Before she was six-months-old, Morgan had surgery to fix five different defects. She has now had a total of three surgeries.
