Survivors of heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases gathered at the 2014 Faces of Heart Fest event in Nashville, Tennessee, to celebrate and share their progress with family and friends.
Many families with children affected by congenital heart defects were present since Nashville was the pilot site for the children’s health section of the Support Network, an online community.
Each person had their own unique “Why,” but one thing remained constant – how grateful each survivor and their loved ones are for all of the work done by the American Heart Association to help people live happier, healthier lives.
“I support the American Heart Association because [of] all the research they do and all the things they have done through the years that have helped save lives like mine,” said one survivor.
The American Heart Association is Why. Life is Why.
