Much of the country has been experiencing some extreme heat. This makes summer nutrition and hydration all that more important. With kids having more daylight to play outside, it is vital to keep them energized with healthy snacks and drinks.

Even some professional baseball stadiums will let you bring in sandwiches of your own, so instead of rewarding kids at their events with sugary drinks and concession stand treats, try packing your own healthy alternatives. There are so many healthy post-play snack options out there I’m sure you’ll find lots of choices that you and your family will love.

Invite your kids to pitch in on prepping fruits and veggies, packing waters and 100% juices so that they are more involved in the change up. You’ll be one parent who hits it out of the park!
